Hannah Hodson to be Conservative Candidate in Victoria

August 26, 2021

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Victoria, BC – Today, Hannah Hodson announced that she will be the Conservative Party of Canada candidate in the riding of Victoria.

“I am pleased to join Erin O’Toole’s team in this federal election,” said Hodson. “Our platform, Canada’s Recovery Plan, will secure jobs, health, and Victoria’s economic future. Coming out of the pandemic, Canada needs new leadership and Victoria needs a new voice in Ottawa. I want to be that voice.”

Hodson received her bachelor's degree from the University of Victoria. She has spent the last seven years serving British Columbians, first working for the former BC Government in communications for Premier Christy Clark and going on to work for an incumbent Member of Parliament in BC.

“As a transgender Canadian, I have faced many struggles,” shared Hodson, describing herself as passionate about advancing LGBTQ equality and rights, protecting the environment, and tackling the affordability crisis that has driven up the cost of living for Canadians. “From difficulty accessing gender affirming healthcare to being subjected to hateful comments. I want to show people like me, and anyone who feels that they have been ignored, that I will fight for them.”

“All Canadians, especially the most vulnerable, deserve to have a secure future in our country and in our communities,” said Hodson. “That is why I am running - to give voice to the voiceless.”
